Why I Joined the WH, WN Community

Karen and I have been friends for almost twenty years now, meeting through fan-fiction and watching that friendship blossom as we both moved from fan-fiction to original fiction.

I already trusted Karen with my book babies, having experienced what a great editor she is, so when she told me about her idea to create a writing community that encouraged, supported and uplifted other writers, I instantly jumped on board.

I knew what Karen had planned was special. At the time, hardly anything else like WH, WN existed, and the writing community was in desperate need of a safe space to ask questions of all kinds, celebrate successes and commiserate things not going as planned. Plus, the promise of masterclasses from other industry experts was irresistible.

It’s now been three years since WH, WN launched, and I have since become a member of the admin team, and I’ve never regretted a moment of it.

The sprints, goal planning and accountability sessions help my ADHD brain stay on track with writing.
I know if I have a question—big or small—about writing, someone in the group will have the answer or be able to point me in the right direction.

But the thing that really keeps me coming back day after day, week after week, is the people. I have met some incredible people through this group, whom I now consider lifelong friends. I’ve seen these authors go from shy and scared of sharing their writing to publishing their debut novels. What the members of WH, WN have achieved never fails to inspire me!
