Connecting creatives and communities, uplifting indie voices, and championing worthy causes.
When I first launched the Kindred Book Club, I imagined a close-knit space where readers and authors could connect, where indie creatives could shine, and where we could raise money for meaningful causes. Initially, it was going to be a Patreon-based Discord—but I quickly realised that wasn’t the kind of community I wanted to build.
✨ What I truly wanted was something more open, more values-driven, and more joyful.
That vision evolved into the Kindred Book Club—with a free-to-join Discord that's welcoming to all.
As I began building momentum for our first event—Reading With Pride—I connected with a wide range of creatives: artists, musicians, performers, and more, many from marginalised communities. It made me realise something important: while my own roots may be in the book world, creativity exists across so many mediums—and I want to help support and celebrate them all.
And so, the Kindred Book Club evolved into the Kindred Creativity Club.
As this community continues to grow, my hope is to support causes such as LGBTQIA+ rights, neurodiversity, food insecurity, homelessness, and more. In the future, I’d love to create searchable databases of both creatives and fundraisers, and host regular, meaningful events that amplify voices that deserve to be heard.
About The Founder
For Clare, storytelling has always been sacred — a space of wonder, connection, and quiet rebellion. As a queer, neurodivergent creative, they approach their work with an open heart and a justice-driven lens, often centering themes of chosen family, healing, and hope.
The Kindred Creativity Club began as an extension of that same mission — a way to build a welcoming, values-led space for creatives of all kinds. From indie authors to visual artists, musicians to makers, Clare believes in uplifting marginalised voices and using creative platforms to champion meaningful causes.
Based in the West Midlands, UK, Clare lives with their spouse and two children. When not writing magic-infused stories or working on The Kindred Creativity Club, they can be found gaming, watching cozy TV shows, or crafting something handmade and heartfelt.
Through The Kindred Creativity Club, Clare hopes to spark joy, celebrate community, and remind creatives everywhere: your voice matters, and you’re never alone.
