Hi! My name is Jess and I'm the artist behind 'Brush To Blades'!

While being an artist/illustrator and cover designer, I'm also disabled and chronically ill.

This is a big part of my reality and both art and reading have been a massive support system for me since becoming suddenly disabled in 2022.

I've been an avid reader since I was young, as well as being completely obsessed with drawing, painting and really anything creative (and messy!).

If I could tell Young Jess that she makes book covers and takes other art commissions now, she would be over the moon and I carry that knowledge with me and infuse the love from it into every stroke of my work.

Fantasy is my favourite book genre, it is so incredibly magical to be able to be transported to another universe when things get too much.

As such, fantasy is a big focus within my work since it sparks such passion within me. Although, of course, I don't only do fantasy art.

I love experimenting with styles and subjects. I offer book cover design/art in both illustrated and stock image formats, character art, general illustrations, sprayed edge designs, internal illustrations and much more.

I'm Emma, a mum of 2, creating and making all of my items from my little craft room/office in Staffordshire. I have always been crafty and had creative hobbies - scrapbooking, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery and love making things for my friends and family.

I have always loved shopping from small businesses and dreamed of having my own little shop one day. After my daughters were born I started making things for their bedrooms and their birthday parties, and this is where Peanut & Sprout came from! Oh, and my daughters ARE Peanut and Sprout, these are the nicknames they had when I was pregnant with them!

I must admit there is a lot of pink in my shop, but this is because it's my favourite colour, and my girls love it too! But everything is fully customisable so please get in touch if you see something you like but would prefer it in different colours as if I'm able to help then I definitely will! I love making custom items.
