I am beyond excited to announce that The Kindred Creativity Club’s Bookish Charity Auction raised £288 for The Trussell Trust!

It’s been a few days since the auction ended, and honestly? I’m still in shock.

To everyone who donated prizes, bid on items, or shared the auction — from the bottom of my heart…

thank you

When I started The KCC back in June, my dream was always to run a charity auction. But even as the community grew and people joined our events, I had this little voice in the back of my mind whispering that maybe it wouldn’t be enough — that people had bigger concerns, especially this time of year.

But you all proved me so incredibly wrong with your generosity.

You raised almost £300! Do you know the kind of impact that has for people who need support this holiday season?

With £288, the Trussell Trust can help a food bank manage rising costs for food, energy, and transport, or provide direct support to people facing hardship — from helping them claim benefits to offering vital energy advice.

YOU did that.
🖤💜 Thank you. Truly. 💜🖤

If you missed the auction — or if you’re feeling extra generous — The Kindred Creativity Club is raising funds for The Trussell Trust throughout the entire month over on our Facebook Page

Alternatively, you can donate directly to The Trussell Trust here.

The Kindred Creativity Club is now taking a well-earned break for the holidays. But I'll be back next year with more community spotlights, events showcasing indie creatives, and charity fundraisers.

Until then, stay safe and look after each other.

Happy Holidays!

About the Trussell Trust

Food banks in The Trussell Trust network distributed 2.9 million emergency food parcels in the past 12 months — equivalent to one parcel every 11 seconds. (source)

In the UK (2023/24), 7.5 million people experienced food poverty, and 2.89 million food parcels were distributed by The Trussell Trust — the highest number in its history.

Record food bank use coincides with the rising cost of living, particularly affecting disabled people, renters, and households with children.

While The Trussell Trust provides a significant portion of food aid, other independent food banks also operate across the UK, with their numbers increasing during the pandemic.(sources: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4)
